Terminal External Pin
Dell Inspiron 1545 + 2408WFP External Monitor = Incompatible?
Running an Inspiron 1545 laptop (15.6 glossy, Pentium Dual Core T4200, 4gb ram, 500gb HD, Intel graphics media accelerator 4500MHD, Vista home premium 64). Recently acquired a Dell 2408WFP monitor for photo editing and am seeing a slight, constant, back-lit "flicker", with it connected to my comp via the 15-pin VGA cable (the only connection option for the 1545).
The problem seems to persist at any resolution level, and isn't the type of flicker caused by an unideal refresh rate (although at 1920x1200, the only refresh rate option is 60GHz).
Just for kicks, I connected the monitor to a different laptop via the same VGA cable and there was no problem -- so the issue has to be with the 1545.
Is this a graphics card (or lack thereof) issue? Is this a faulty VGA terminal? Is it a driver issue? How is babby formed? I'm totally stumped. :-/
Well 60hz is the best option for most screens unless you know the screen works with more. Second: It could be a port, but to use dual screens you can try and download software. If your on a desktop with a graphics card you usually have more options but with a laptop your limited.
