turn off dvr feature in dish network system?
My dad ordered dish network and we got the box with dvr included inside the box(system). It records channels we commonly view such as showtime and Cnn and we have never set it to record anything. how can I turn it off? I went into the settings but it dosent say anything.
on your remote click on the gray "DVR" button and then click on "My Recordings", click over on "Schedule" then "Timers"....if things are recording for you and you dont' want them to, those programs will appear on the next list, simply click over to the left and press select on each program and click to "delete" the timer, once the list is empty, things should never record anymore unless you click to record a program. let me know if you have any questions, but No, you cannot just press a setting that prohibits you from having the recording features.
