Do you have any ideas on building the best mousetrap car while using the mousetrap as your only energy source?

This is a list of materials that are allowed.

mousetrap, rubber bands, balloons, string, cans, wire coat hangers, soda straws, lids from containers, CDs, nails, glue, sticky tape, toothpicks, matchsticks, wood or plastic spools, wood pencils, staples, pipe cleaners, foil, thumb tacks, paper clips, index cards, and twisty ties.

Ideas on how to make the car go the farthest and the fastest?
Ideas for wheels and the main frame of the car?

I need any suggestions I can get. This would really help me. Thanks.

power source: RAT TRAP --check and see if you can use this, your teacher may let you, larger, more powerful...
wheels: CD's with tape covering the edge that touches the ground for traction [I used electrical tape]
glue: use a HOT GLUE GUN if you can, it will hold stronger, dry faster, but don't get burned
use a wire coat hanger to extend the reach of the mouse/rat trap so it looks like this [see below]

the hanger should be folded to cover both ends of the trap [the part that snaps down] and then the long piece at the end is just a fold in the middle of the hanger. Cover the hanger in tape for more stability. Use the end of the hanger to attach the string.
The string should attach to the back axis on a plastic spool, which has a thin layer of tape on it for grip.
**MAKE SURE your mouse trap is facing the right direction! if the trap is NOT SET the the long end of the hanger should be pointing PAST the FRONT AXIS, the way the car will be moving.
I used aspen wood for my body, but I'd just glue lots of matchstick or pencils together using the hot glue gun to make the body.
The car in general should look like this before the trap is set:

Hope this helps!! I built my car in about 2 days...you might want to change some things if you can't use a rat trap, but otherwise you'll probably come in 1st.
