Do I need a credit card to purchase a new cell phone w/plan at Best Buy?

I don't have a credit card right now, and I need to get a new cell phone and plan. Can I still get one w/out one? How would I pay bills?

In order to open up a new account and plan you will need to have a credit check done, (unless it's pay-as-you-go). You don't necessarily have to have a credit card though. A credit check (in Canada and for Roger's/Fido) requires 2 pieces of government ID that can be any 2 combination of drivers license, birth certificate, social insurance number, passport, provincial age of majority (ID), or proof of citizenship, or credit card.

As long as you have at least 2 of those things other than the credit card, then you should be fine
